One of the things the Church encourages us to do frequently, but most especially in this time of Lent, is to avail ourselves to the Sacrament of Confession. As has been mentioned in the bulletin, and at Mass, there is the additional time being offered during Lent for this on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. With the beginning of Lent, I have also made a slight change in the place where confessions are heard. Instead of the usual confessionals, I have started hearing confessions in one of the crying rooms (including during the regular times on Saturday). I have brought in a screen with a kneeler to allow people to continue confessing anonymously, and the opportunity is now there for people to confess face-to-face, if they wish. This will also allow greater privacy in the confession process as I have been having to play a CD during confessions because the back pews are so close to the confessional. This will also permit people who wish to pray in quiet during that time to do so. If these added times are still not convenient, please feel free to call the rectory to arrange a mutually convenient time.
