As we enter into this holy season of our Lord’s birth, on behalf of the staff here at St. Bartholomew’s, I want to wish each of you a very blessed Christmas and all the best in the new year. As we reflect on the birth of Jesus, we reflect on the immensity of the Father’s love for each and every one of us. To live in the awareness that God did not withhold his only Son from us, but allowed him to become one of us, taking flesh and being born of the Virgin Mary, is to live in awe of His generosity, but is also to live a life that seeks to conform itself to the Incarnate Word, Jesus Christ, and his teachings. May we, throughout the year and not only in the season ahead, be “doers of the word and not hearers only” (James 1:22), allowing that love to take flesh in our lives in all that we say and do. Merry Christmas to all!
